WIND RELIC is Dimsum Energy’s privately-owned partner in the current development of two significant wind projects in the Eastern Cape – the first, just South of Somerset East and the second, just West of Grahamstown. Once completed, these two utilities will combine to generate over 5000 MW of clean electricity.

CALORE is our Dimsum Energy partner that focuses on providing biomass energy solutions to small and large scale industrial customers in the form of heat, steam and power from various biomass sources. Calore also owns and operates a 6000 ton p.a. pellet manufacturing plant called PelletPower located at the Boskor Mill in Tsitsikamma producing pellets from sawdust. It is the largest operating, pelletising plant of its kind in South Africa. The business is currently conducting a proof of concept at a large chicken hatchery where it will convert the coal heating systems with wood chips as the fuel source. Calore is investigating a number of other projects with significant industrial customers.

FUSION ENERGY HOLDINGS is the clean energy brand that draws upon the DIMSUM team’s combined acumen and expertise to identify, develop, construct, own, operate and manage independent solar and hydro energy assets. ELECTRIC FISH is a subsidiary of Fusion, jointly owned by Navitas, developing the current potential of 12 run-of-the-river hydro-electric utilities along the Orange-Fish Transfer Scheme with a total installed capacity of around 36 MW.

JERSEY ENERGY DEVELOPMENTS is our project company which is developing a pipeline of wind and Solar projects in the Humansdorp area of the Eastern Cape. Our local partner is prominent, local, dairy farmer Mr Migo Meyer who had the ambition of building a wind farm on his own land. This single wind farm ambition has evolved into a wind and solar project development company which aims to develop 1GW of wind and Solar generation capacity in the area. JERSEY has secured the land access rights to develop a project of this magnitude. Discussions have already begun with Eskom transmission to collaborate in building the transmission infrastructure required to evacuate the electricity to be generated by this project. We anticipate that the project will be rolled out, in various stages, over the next decade.
